rebuttal to clipboard man story ebola
Is the public overly concerned or simply misinformed about Ebola and disease control protocol? Does the media have the answers?
Who is unprotected ‘clipboard man’ with Ebola patient? – ‘Clipboard Man’ Shows Media Figures Didn’t Get the Memo About Ebola Transmission –
Who was this man in plain clothes standing near Amber Vinson, a nurse diagnosed with Ebola, while all other personnel were wearing hazmat suits? Ebola isn’t airborne and can’t be caught by merely standing near someone with it. One must have direct contact with the bodily fluids of someone sick with it to catch it. Why is the media failing so badly to convey this important message?

Organic agriculture vs Antibiotic resistance
Can GM food cause immunity to antibiotics? – Is organic agriculture leading to an increase in antibiotic resistance? –
The article cites research regarding the possible harmful effects of exposure to GM foods that have been genetically modified to be resistant to antibiotics. It proposes that ingestion of GM foods creates bacteria with modified DNA that may be resistant to therapeutic antibiotics. Campbell questions the article’s validity citing that the concerns regarding immunity to antibiotics is a scare viewpoint promoted by anti-GMO activists and is not founded on valid research.
one rebuttal to irrational atheism on the atlantic
How does one justify being an atheist? Is it an irrational belief?
Irrational Atheism – Is atheism irrational? A philosopher says “yes” –
Atheism provides us with a worldview and a social context, just like religion, and is just as actively and irrationally believed in. Atheism is not the same as naturalism, and in any case religious “faith” is very different to the justified beliefs formed upon naturalistic evidence.
rebuttal to watts up with that acidification article
Ocean Acidification – does this study on a freshwater lake bear any relevance to the oceans?
EnvironmentGlobal WarmingClimate Change
New paper debunks ‘ocean acidification’ scare, finds warming increases pH – Anthony Watts (and others) fail ocean chemistry – woefully! –
Anthony Watts discusses research on lakes which indicates that pH levels increase with warmer temperatures and decrease in cooler temperatures. He uses this study to contradict the science which states that global warming is causing an acidification of the earth’s oceans. Watt’s article is challenged due to the fact that the research cited is based on freshwater lakes and not ocean water. Watt’s understanding of solubility, acidification, physics and chemistry are also challenged.
Third place pitching at SydStart

So it has been a long time since our last email, we apologise for that, but that is now being fixed and we are working on ensuring we get emails out every week. Since our last email, if you look at our blog, you will see that at the recent SydStart event, the highlight of the tech entrepreneur scene in Sydney, rbutr took out third place in the pitching competition. This is a phenomenal result for us, as we were competing with a field of over 200 applicants and rbutr has always had a difficult business case. We stand by the value of our project, but can’t be sure it will ever make money. Some things you just have to do because they are worth doing. So to make it to the top three of a pitching competition (ie: Investors liked us), was a great outcome.

We’ve also almost reached 2,000 Facebook likes, so if you haven’t liked our Facebook page yet, get on it with the link below!

That’s all for now. See you next week!
